Default trolling for trout

i never trolled for trout before but ive been watching these boats troll up and down the creeks and they are trolling for trout, and catching one here and there. so do i use a cork and hook with alive bait. any weight on the line? what speed do they troll at ? what is the best live bait to use. do they troll with small crankbaits . whats the best crankbaits to troll. do you troll the crankbaits at the same speed as live bait? i would like to try this but i need some info please. thanks for any help. catbird....
