Default First Post, First time fishing Fort Bragg

Greeting all,

Not having much to do on leave and my ADHD kicking in real hard. I thought I would pick up fishing again. I used to live on the Tennesse River and used to make trips to Guntersville Lake often in Alabama. I found this website and thought I would give Fort Bragg a shot after getting my license and permit this morning I went to Keist Lake .

The lake looked nice and seemed like a place I might spend the day enjoying some fishing. I walked down to the lake just to check it out and watched two nice bass just laying there. After making my way back to the truck and grabbing my rod and reel I headed back to the same location I saw those two nice bass. Of course they were gone... I made a cast and bam i felt a strike. I was able to land the smallest blue gill I've ever seen trying to swallow a lure that was twice it's size. I'm thinking this is a good omen, the fish must be starving, but it was the only fish I caught that day. Of I forgot I did manage to hook a turtle.

Well just wanted to give my report. I guess it's too hot to fish, but it's better then working or watching TV. Maybe I'll try to go at night.
