Notes/Steps

(NOTE) I have as yet to try this fly except in m R&D Tank( bath tub) But it had nice action and sinks when stopped. Hope to try it on the Shad soon.

1. Bend hook to match nail, and bend eye up as in pic. 1
2. Apply lead tape to hook(supper glue to keep from spinning) and secure with thread. Pic 2 & 3
3.Tie Flash at bend of hook for tail.Pic 4
4. Tie first color of Chenille Pic. 5. Wrap Chenille to mid point. Pic. 5 & 6
6. Tie in second color of Chenille and wrap to two eye widths from hook eye. Pic 7
7.Wrap head and whip finish. Pic 8
8. Use a hot Bodkin to melt a hole for hook eye in the nail. Pic 9 &10
9. Use adhesive to stick nail to the fly. Hold pressure or clamp till set (15 -20 Sec).Pic 11 - 13
10. Apply Glitter glue with a toothpick or small brush. Pic 14
11. When glitter glue in dry (takes a while) appy two to three coats of Salley Hansen Hard as Nails.

Suggested Rod/Reel/Line

depends on what your fishing for 6-8wt sinking or floating line
