BTW on my last post, I wasn't referring to this weekend. I know how aggravating last minute requests can be. Thanks!

Hi, I just want to say thanks for your updates! Also, could you what I would need to do to obtain a primitive campsite in the Holly Point area? With my work schedule, I wouldn't be able to arrive until after the park office closes. Are the primitive sites (tent only, no water/elec) on a first come, first serve basis (like at Goose Creek State Park)? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I need some consult. I am an avid naturalist, hunter, angler mostly to spend time outdoors. I plan an annual challenge to investigate a mystery. This year I intend to 1. see if smallmouth exist in in the little river (durham/NW wake). I read in a post that a smallie popluation once existed before Falls Lake was created by someone who insists it was not a roanoke bass! Based upon the characteristics of the Eno and the presence of roanoke bass and rockfish could a population have existed but was impacted by slowing flow and warmin? Little access and development so I think a few may survive if the population existed. 2) confirm the existence of the adjunct canebrake (timber rattler) population that is often seen on distribution maps as approximately the convergence of the Eno, Flat and Little rivers.I figured that if the population was viable, protected habitat would be the best bet. my objectives are to photo. All responses in confidence. Have you heard of either population?
