Hi Darrel, we met at the LKN HH meet and great. I had the dog and the john boat.
Im planning on fishing expanding my fishing your way this year, just moved near Buffalo Shoals and Old Mountain Rd. Norman will still be my main waters, but I will be working Hickory, and Rhodhiss this year. Been to Lookout 3 times in past with little luck.
Gonna try to put some "habitat" in Norman in the next month, then see about venturing to Hickory more often.
I would like to keep in touch with you, if you dont mind.

I see your in Cherryville. I have a friend who owns a bird preserve there. Rock Haven Farms is the name. I also but all my hunting/fishing equipment at The Great Outdoors. Any good places to fish in the area that aren't private? ~LTF

Slow, but she is doing pretty good, thanks for asking. She just began physical therapy yesterday (Monday) and this week will probably be the hardest with that but her spirit is good and she is a stubborn person, so she will succeed.

    Hi dbeam,
I used to have some relatives from Western Lincoln Co. I fish on Hickory, Rhodhiss, and occasionally James. I like to fish Norman and Wylie in the spring. I also trout fish the Wilson Creek drainage and the South Toe region too. Maybe we can get together and try some bass, crappie, or trout sometime sure enough. I saw the report on your recent outing. Those were some nice bass. Congratulations on a nice catch!

My first kayak back in 2000 was a Drifter and I really enjoyed it. Slow, but a good learner. The specs are off a little bit from what has been listed there. The Drifter is really 12'7", 32.5" wide, but most importantly has a capacity of 450 to 500lbs (not 300-350lbs as he's listed). It also needs scupper plugs bad, if you don't have plugs it will hold 3-4" of water in the cockpit. The Drifter's nickname is the "Swampa$$".

I found the one you're looking at and it's an older version. I'd say about seven years old. Newer models have bungee over the tankwell and a small tackle box holder on the center console. The one listed has buckles/straps. It's white which is a rare color from Ocean Kayak. There was no "Scuba Diver Edition" made by OK, only an angler. Anything scuba specific has been done by the seller. The tankwell was molded to accept a scuba tank and does not hold a milk crate. I had to build a crate for the back out of PVC and a Coke crate.

I'd offer him $400 to $450 for it.

The brown was a nice one for sure! A buddy of ours caught it on the North Toe. That one was on crickets but I`ve seen another that big caught on a little crankbait. I remember the weatherman said there MIGHT be flurries and I ended up standing in several inches of snow in tennis shoes! I haven`t been in a couple yrs myself. I just remember it was near a fire dept and a bridge. I want to say hwy 19? I`d have to get my atlas out cause I`ve got it marked. Our other main spot is on the Green river below Lake Adger.
