    Just heard marine fisheries voted 5-3 to ban shrimp trawlers in pamlico sound

    Unfortunately, they did not act on the striped bass issue. Hopefully, the trawl issue will mean more abundance of finfish.

    After all is said and done.... A heck of a lot more will be said than done

    There are MANY more hoops to jump through before anything is implemented and rest assured there are already paid politicians writing bills to try to thwart this positive first step. Ultimately this will end up on Jones St. so if you want these rule changes to be implemented please let your representatives know you want the petition rules changes enacted in full!!

    Good! Better to get started and be thwarted, than to never have the issues come up. Now at least the rats that are trying to hide will have to come out in the light of day. Lots of hoops but at least it is a start.
