    Default Ridiculous Limits on Harris

Riverrat1 mentioned in a post about a couple getting a 41.9 lb limit in a tournament on Harris. That in itself was amazing. However, it appears that the same couple has topped their own ridiculously high hurdle by getting a 46.89 lb limit in another Harris tournament. Not only were they catching giants they were catching lots of fish as well. Almost unbelievable. North Carolina is providing some great fishing this spring.

So are those 2 angler limits, as in 10 fish? If it's only a normal 5 fish limit, that's freaking incredible for any lake or river anywhere!

That's right. If you read the links they caught over 20 both days and were culling 7 & 8 lb fish. Mind blowing.

If Harris wasnt crowded enough before it will be now, everyone and their brother will be pounding it to death with dreams of huge sacks of fish... many will leave disappointed.

For sure most will be disappointed. The results of the tournaments prove that. The 2nd tournament where they caught the 46.89 stringer only weighed in 172 lbs of bass. The top two teams accounted for over 62 lbs of that total. Only the top 6 teams weighed more than 10 lbs. This isn't a case of a lake being on fire and pumping out tons of big fish but more a case of somebody getting dialed into something very special.

I know the guys on the second place team, they know Harris real good and got a knack for finding those offshore schools of big fish everywhere they go. They say they fished the same area as Burns and not just anyone could pull up there and catch them like they were.

First time I ever fished Harris they were having a tourney, so me and cousin Rick got it. We finished third with 38 and a half pounds. But that was an eight fish sack ( you could keep ten back then (98) and we thought we'd done something..lol anyway, that's not a bad sack, nearly five pounds a fish. Our biggest was an 8 pound ten oz fish I got on a 3/4 oz ff shad.
Biggest thing to me was the fact I got this big old bass and didn't win big fish, they paid two. Mine was fourth..lol

Seems like the story at Harris is about slot limits, how it effects the live wells at tourneys, and the negative impact that tourney live wells have on (large) fish populations.

We got on them like this years back,,,freezing cold,,three times,,every fish was 5-7 pounds and they were stacked like cordwood at three small spots 18-24 feet,,,,,it was stupid easy and we limited and then some in like 2 and half hours

Can't imagine what the lake would be like if they banned tournaments
