Default Where to Launch for Nighttime Crappie in RDU area?

I just purchased a super bright submersible fishing light that I am eager to try out on some local crappie at night. However, I'm not really sure where to launch in the area, as most of the local put ins that I'm familiar with seem to close at dusk. Does anyone know of a good 24-hour launch in the RDU area that is within a mile or two of some good spring crappie fishing? (I will most likely have to paddle to my fishing spots...) Also, any tips from nighttime crappie chasers would be appreciated.

You might want to check out Crappie.com and go to the NC Forum if you don't get much help here. Hopefully someone chimes in tho.

Falls lake, six fork road boat ramp. I've been wanting to do this for a couple years now, but cant seem to make it happen for some reason. Now I don't live in the area any more.

Falls Lake. It's right by RDU. The state park ramps close at night but the NC Wildlife ramps are open 24 hours. I like to night fish for crappie at Falls up at Ledge Rock ramp. You'll have a blast.

Jordan lake. Farrington, Ebenezer, Robeson creek and Poes are open 24 hours. Ebenezer you are 50 yards or less from a bridge and got a road bed 50 yards beyond that. Probably the safest place to leave a vehicle after dark too.

Launch at the six forks ramp pull out and head under six forks bridge. You will be in crappie heaven. Also look to maneuver to further down six forks to southern bridge head into the shallows and be ready
    for action.
