Default Another old kayak model rebadged and selling cheaper....

If anyone is a fan of the Ocean Kayak Scrambler XT angler (My sons have one), Academy Sporting Goods is now selling a clone of it as the Old Town Caspian. Apparently, it is the same molds as the now defunct OK Scrambler XT.

Old Town and Ocean Kayak have the same parent company, and the kayak is made in the US.

It's not suited for tall anglers, but the weight capacity is 350lbs.

Still, at $449 for a good fishing kayak, with a long history and great reviews, you could do a lot worse for a big box kayak purchase. Ocean Kayak revised the model and rebadged it and the newer version is about $800.

Yup. That's a pre 2008 Tarpon 120. I've got one just like it and Luckone's got the same thing badged as a 120. That's a good stable, reasonably fast, reasonably good handling kayak at a great price. I weigh 230 and can sit sideways in the water to get at gear in the back without tipping. (Started to say without fear of tipping but that might be a lie. I do move slowly and gently). Cheapest I've seen it. But Dick's often sells it (no shipping) for $549...
