I was able to go down to Copperhead Island last Thursday. I fished from the pier that wraps around the park facing McDowell Park. I was not able to catch any bass but noticed that they were hittting the bream beds around the pier. The bass were schooling 4-5 at a time. It was interesting watching them stalking and trying to attack the bream. Nothing I threw at them worked at all. Not even a small live bream on a hook! I couldn't even catch them on bass minnows! The largest size bass I saw was about 20 inches and the smallest around 10.I moved to the piers next to the last boat slip and was able to catch a nice sized flathead and channel cat. The flathead was caught on a bream head and the channel on a bass minnow.
Go get them bass fellas!
