I'm thinking about trying it this summer. Figured while I'm out there I could drop a few. How many can u carry and what brand works best from a yak. Also how long do u soak them. Total newbie but I know where a ton of crabs are.
You might also want to try using a hand trap or even a string with several very large hooks and some chicken necks. then use dip net to get them in the yak. Been doing that since I was a boy and now have the grandkids doing it. Loads of fun. No license needed for that.
Be sure you check the size limits and that you can tell the difference between a female and a male crab
Thank u topsail for correct info and links. Ive done the chicken leg for a while now. Just figured I would set out a few pits while fishing. Then collect them as I paddle back. Not sure if its worth the 30 bucks.
Thanks for clarifying topsail! I knew it was something like that lol.
