I have had great success with Gulp! baits fishing for speckled trout, drum and flounder. I mainly use the shrimp shapes and the jerk baits. I also use the strip baits with bucktails for ocean flounder. They hold up well to fish strikes and being pulled across oyster beds, etc. Often they will induce a strike when nothing else seems to work. However like all baits, sometimes they don't get bites either.
I have caught some VERY big fish with these, in fact I have caught several NC citation size specks (4 pounds or larger) and many Flounder (5 pounds or larger) with 7.3 pounds being my largest flounder to date on Gulp and 5.3 pounds being my largest Speck on gulp to date.
They really work.

Pros:

easy to fish, catches all kinds of species, durable

|
Cons:

little expensive but worth it

Have caught trout(grey and speckled), flounder, drum, croaker, stripped bass to name a few. It is amazing how well this bait works when the fish are around. Have been in area fishing for grey's and no grub would touch them but the Gulp shrimp filled the cooler for us. Made me a believer of this product. The juice inside the bag is also good for other baits. Anytime I finish a bag of gulps I put other grubs and little fishies inside it to soak in the juice. Seems to work! They are a little expensive but well worth having in the tackle box. You know that one bait that you have the most confidence in that you would throw anytime, the gulp shrimp have become my go to bait to find and catch fish. Good luck and hope you have not minded reading my .02 cents worth. H2O Fowl 4

You can't give a new inshore saltwater fisherman much better advice than to tie on a jighead with a 3" gulp shrimp and find some deeper holes at low tide. That's the advice I've gotten and its working well for me. This stuff just plain works in the salt. The fresher the better, so don't bother skimping - its not worth the pennies. Others have suggested that they save the used ones, melt them down (outside!) and let them re-solidify for use as cut bait.

Absolutely the most innovative bait to hit the market in decades. I wouldn't be near Saltwater without a few bags in the boat with me. I have trout, redfish, flounder, and some very Snook with this bait. I'm totally sold.

I think this is a wonderful bait if you just want to get out there and catch some fish, you are pretty much garanteed to catch something.
