Description:	Each autumn, one of nature's most magnificent dramas plays out when striped bass undertake a journey from the northeastern United States to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in search of food and warmer seas. As the first schools move south from Maine, their numbers increase until there are 25 million stripers coursing down the coast. Pros:	Great Stories, well written & researched, easy read
Cons:	some vulgarity, not much how to, not much on NC

Great collection for Striper fans or wannabes (like me). The author follows the fall migration of the Stripers from Maine down to the Outer Banks of NC. Fishes with a number of different characters in some very interesting places.

There's a description of swim-fishing, at night, in bouyant wetsuits with rod & reel that is just unbelievable to even think about.

This book includes many references to other books which I'd like to research myself. Not overly academic - its still an easy read, in the style of Field & Stream articles.

Only one of his stops was in NC (the last one, at the Oregon Inlet). Its not really a "how-to" guide, but lots and lots of "where-to", the history of the fishery and the migration and why people love the Striped Bass. Some of the characters he runs across would need some moderator assistance to maintain the family-friendly guidelines we have on NCangler.com, but that is not the general tone of the book.

I ordered from the NCangler.com eStore. 238 page soft cover.

I didn't finish it in one sitting - it took two. So I gave it a nine. Very much enjoyed.

Pros:	great read
Cons:	too short; didn't last long enough!

just wanted to confirm that this book is a great read, sort of a travel journal of the author's quest to follow the fall striper run down the atlantic coast. if i had the time, i would have finished it in one sitting! (took me more like three -- no reflection on the author, just had to read at end of workday.)
