I tried this line on a rig I was setting up to be "ultra sensitive" for trout fishing. I liked it so well I'm switching all my light tackle reels to it. It is small for its strength (4:1 ratio compared to mono) so you can get more of it onto the reel, very durable (I fish around alot of oyster rocks), and cuts throught the air and water with ease - resulting in farther and more accurate casts. It's very sensitive so you an feel even the slightest tap on your line. It has very little stretch so you fish it a little different - it take only a very light snap of the line to set the hook. It is very expensive compared to mono - but I think it will hold up better and it fishes better so it's worth it for me. Also they say the coloring will rub off of the line after a while.

I'm using Power Pro on my In shore rods now for several reasons one the increase in line capacity that you get with the same poundage line, I beleive that does in fact cast farther, and it is super sensitive. I use a 2ft flourocarbon leader and I have found the combination to be extremely effective. Because it last longer that mono I beleive the additional cost comes into balance. I'm planning to purchase some of the 6# line to put on my Crappie Jigging rods.

Since my first review of this line, I switched all my grouper reels over to Power Pro this winter. I use Penn Senator Specials which have a huge line capacity for mono let alone braid - so I left a good deal of the mono on the spool as a backing to keep the retrieve ratio high. I put 200 yards of braid on top.
Wow! What a difference. I lost very few groupers this winter due to breakoffs when they run into their hole - even on wrecks. Not because the braid is tougher (which it is) but because there is almost no stretch and increased senstivity to detect the slightest movement of the bait. That meant the grouper had less opportunity to get back in his hole before I could yank him off the bottom. Great stuff!

Great line. Power Pro dosn't get matted to the reel like some other types of braid.
