Not the smoothest, not the longest casting, not the highest gear ratio, not the most bearings, not the latest technology but an absolute WORKHORSE. It just fishes, and fishes well.
4600 is the narrow version - limited line capacity but fine for bass fishing. I've been running the 8/30 Spiderwire Stealth for years.
Probably $60 new retail. Found mine on a seasonal clearout at K-Mart cheap ($25! - would gladly trade all of the baitcasters I've bought for $25 4600s!!). Have seen a range of prices on ebay.
Tons of Abu's in use with little change over the years, so parts & maintenance should not be an issue.
I use it primarily freshwater bass fishing but have taken it on inland coastal trips too.
