Description: ***Discontinued manufacturing of this model in 2007 - M504 is replacement model ****

The Icom IC-M502 Marine VHF Transceiver provides easy waterproof operation, manually or by remote! The IC-M502, with its standard 4" X 6" front panel, will easily blend into your cabin console or dashboard. The generous front panel provides large function switches and a wide LCD. With full dot matrix characters, information can be easily read under any lighting condition. By adding the new, optional COMMANDMIC (HM-127) all available functions of the IC-M502 (except DSC operation) can be controlled from remote locations, such as from the deck or flybridge. Plus, the COMMANDMIC doubles as an intercom. Click on the small image to get a large picture of the IC-M502.

Pros: waterproof, easy to read screen, stay on back lighting (adjustable), speaker microphone
Cons: Cannot remove microphone cable from unit in case of bad cable

No complaints using this unit on my open center console boat. Lot's of options and can configure the unit as a head unit, yet can use the command mic remote for interior cabin areas or forward locations on the boat.

Very versitle and reliable. Anyone with a open cockpit, this is a radio to consider. Big buttons and dials to be able to use with gloves on during cold weather months

Easy to use, easy to program, and the DSC functions as advertised and it too is simple to operate. Installation is a snap, either flush mount or bracket mount. Simple pos/neg for the power, antenna connection and easy two wire NMMA wire connection for the unit to send/receive NMMA information to other units such as sonar and GPS.

I highly recommend this unit.
