Tried our luck in rose bay on 8-14. About a dozen short flounder and dozen short trout. One keeper flounder 22” and 15” trout. Bait EVERYWHERE. Talked with a few guys at the ramp and was about the same across the board. One group had 5 keeper flounder but that was best report I heard. All our fish caught on gulp and zman minnowz.

Layed the smackdown on the flat fish today. On the water well before the sun came up. Caught our 3 man limit before noon. Also got a 22" red under the moonlight and a stray 15" trout that was hanging out where a flat fish should be. Between us and Curtis & Co, the water level may have dropped a little.

Made the trip to Pamlico today. Tried the trout to start but managed only 1 18incher. Turned our attention to flounder and managed to catch 15 flounder 11 were from 15 1/2 to 17 inches. After we caught our 8 for the box we tried to find a red but could only manage 3 more keeper size flounder that were returned to the water. Gulp was the bait any shape or color (as long as it was white).
