    Jeff,

I read your post concerning the launch sites at Falls Lake. I appreciate the detail in which you described each one.

I'm heading out there after work in my kayak and will probably launch from Bartons and head to the main channel. I'm still looking for a launch site that's closer to the "S turn" near mile markers 6, 7 and 8.

Have you found anything close to that area? Holly Point is for camplers only, right?

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Eric

jeff: i caught two drum (see my post in the kayak/sw forum) near where we fished last year in the hwy70 marsh -- there were drum all over that place, i just couldn't get them to bite! caught a legal-sized flounder off that oyster bed where you found that school of under-sized drum (i'm sure you recall -- i caught three of them!). just relatively north of there was a large shallow bay were there were 100+ drum breaking the water -- but totally uninterested in anything i threw at them. caught the 2 drum near that spot on the MHC side of the marsh where there's a deep hole where that side of the marsh drains. should be some good fishing there later in the season! fyi - joel

Hey, I wouldn't mind if you showed me some areas to fish when I visit Raleigh. I haven't fished there in my yak yet. I'll show you around the Wilson area. We have Buckhorn Reservior, Tar River Reservior, Finch's Mill, Wiggins Mill, and Toisinot. I'm sure there's other areas as well, I just got my yak in Feb 08.
