Went out yesterday and today, hitting the water at around 9 AM. It was my first time out there on a kayak. I've fished the banks there with hit and miss results. Yesterday was pretty choppy because of the wind, but today was absolutely gorgeous. Water levels still higher than average, but a pretty big difference between yesterday and today. Pulled in a dozen cats, most decent sized. I threw out a Senko and a spinner by the weed lines and grass in between bites to try to land a bass with not even a bite. That's OK though, as my main target was cats. I stayed mainly on the far SW side where Crabtree Creek flows in. I caught 3 juniors by the Aviation Pkwy inlet. All caught on fresh shrimp. Nothing monstrous sized, but happy all in all that I finally got to break in the boat with a good amount of fish slime. One of these days I will try to go out for some carp there.
