Common Name: Atlantic Bonito
Scientific Name: Sarda sarda
Habitat / Location: They visit the coast of NC in the Spring - usually around mid-April till about mid-May. They travel in schools and like structure. The near shore artificial reefs are great places to find them. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times.
Qualities: Excellent eating.
NC Record Catch:
Lures: Metal spoons, small stick baits, top water plugs
Suggested Line: 10 -12 pound test. They are leader shy.
