Good evening saltwater gurus. I only get to fish saltwater a couple of times a year, I’m going to order some down south lures and Zman shrimp. My question is when we go to Atlantic Beach/EI during the summer the surf is usually dirty, what colors seem to do best in those conditions? Thanks in advance
Thanks I seen zman has a scented shrimp so I’ll definitely order a pack. I’ve tried gulp shrimp but the friggin’ pinfish bite the tails off constantly.
Pro-Cure gel is a great addition to ZMan and other soft plastics to produce scent. Also pulling a gold or silver spoon through the surf can be pretty effective. Best of luck!
That is an understatement abou zman imo.. in oriental Two weeks ago I caught 22 trout 3 slot puppy drum a flounder and the rare and elusive bluefish on one zman swimming trout trick in fried chicken color. Hands down toughest bait I ever seen. Even then the bait was still useable but wouldn’t stay on the jig head cause the center was wallowed out
Edit to add something in a light color and another in dark color usually will get u in the ballpark. I personnally use something with chartreuse 90% of the time.
I would recommend the z-man minnowz in white or chartreuse. I would also recommend using one of their Jig heads as it seems to hold that bait better. The white one and some pro-cure is my go to flounder bait.
Thanks for all the insights definitely planning on making sure to have some chartreuse colored baits and I noticed fishbites has a lime/chartreuse color I’m going to use for my bottom rod. Thanks again I hope everyone has a great summer season ahead!!

Caught trout on worm with boogered-up head by wacky rigging (hook in center of worm.) Just slow jigged it up and down. Even caught a trout dead sticking this way.
Grab some super glue for the zmans. It will allow you to use whatever jighead and it will not slip off and last longer
