Default Citation trout on the New River

Went out Sunday with Timmy to Jacksonville in search of some of the Gators that we had found the week before. Fish were not as eager to play this week and they were scattered. We had to catch one and move all day. We did end up with five keepers and I guess that was good with the dirty water from the wind and rain. A fun beautiful day on the water and Timmy had the bragging rights with a nice citation fish. Congrats to Timmy, my turn next time!

Nice fish. I think I may have seen you. I was the guy in the kayak with the big skunk flag!

Is that a Mr. Wags I see buried in that big trout's throat? Nice work on the citation!

He caught that fish on a Billy Bay Halo Shad. Glow with pink tail and chartreuse on the belly.
I caught all the others on a MR18.
I said my 4 fish added up to 60" but it didn't count.

Hey, that's the exact same lure that I was throwing. Must not have been holding my mouth right.

I think you must have seen another yakker. I pedal, don't paddle.

Good deal. I have seen the same few boats fishing the same areas the last 5-6 days and then this morning I saw a netter in there.

Figures. Big girls are getting active now preparing for the first spawn of the year. I wish that was a hook & line fishery only with a slot, at least during the Spring.
