    Default Windy Saturday!

Morning shift in the salt was decent, more so for Austen than for me. I managed 3 keeper drum, a keeper flounder and several Bluefish (no choppers )

I struggled on high tide in a new area I've never been before, but I figured them out on low tide. Water was crystal clear so I switched the paddlerz out for zman shrimpz and immediately started catching.

Austen was the star of the show today for sure, catching more than twice as many keeper drum and this big boy.

Wind was howling when we left at lunch but i decided to part ways with Austen and try another launch. Fished a couple hours in 20+ mph wind before I gave up. You know the wind is bad when I give up! Oh well, caught some fish and had a great day. I don't mind getting outfished every once in a while

Good deal. I've never had any success on the zman shrimp. Which color and jig head worked for you?

Any Zman lure in the Fried Chicken color works great on anything. I fished 1 month straight with the same Fried Chicken Trout Trick with the Trout Trick jighead and caught everything... until my line finally broke. Awesome bait.

I only use the pre rigged ones. They're simular to a Doa shrimp bur they have an amazing action when you twich them. I pretty much throw white zman all the time. The shrimp had a chartruese tail. I use white paddlerz for trout, drum and flounder, and diezel minnowz for striper. I don't like the trout tricks, just a preference thing

Nice work Cody! Got to admit, I love seeing my old yak with so many nice fish on it. She was a great boat to me, even gave up an upper slot drum my first time out on it. I bought it from a Coastie stationed at Fort Macon and he said he used to take it out to the wrecks a couple miles off Atlantic Beach too. Keep it up (I have no doubt you will)!

Great report. What size zman shrimpz, zman paddlerz and diezelminnowz do you generally use? I only ask because I am new to fishing salt waterand have been struggling a bit on figuring things out. Any help is greatlyappreciated.

There is only 1 size of each. The difference between a minnowz and a diezel minnowz is the minnowz is only 3 inch while the diezel minnowz is 4.

Nice work. Battling the wind in a kayak takes serious dedication.
