Headed east on the Pamlico on Sunday with my Dad. We had our limit of 8 trout and a 20" striper by 7:45 and caught all of them on topwater. Spook jrs were the bait of choice. When the sun popped out we switched to mirrolures and corks and continued to catch fish. We ended the day around 11 with 40-50 trout 19 that would have kept with the biggest around 22.5", 5 stripers and one small red. My only regret is that we didn't get there a little bit earlier because we caught the tail end of the topwater bite. Another awesome day spent with my Pops.
Just a unreal year for you guys up there! Fantastic job getting it done early in the morning. I need a day trip up that way. Point me in the right direction and I'm gone!
