Default PB Brown (or any other color)

I have heard that big fish like cold weather. Exhibit A attached for consideration. Helton Creek, November 19, snow flurries and light freezing rain with heavy overcast. 4 WT rod, self-tied egg pattern (don't hate). Apologies for the Cheshire Cat grin, but after what seemed like a 45 minute fight I was a little excited.

    FISH ON!

No sir, I am afraid there no "official" measurements. My net is 25.5" and this beauty was a little short of that and an absolute FATTY.

That's a lot of jaw to keep your tippet clear of. Good work.

Reminds me of one I lost a few years back in a DH section of river. Broke me off under a log. Still the largest trout I've hooked up with to this date.

    Excellent fish. Good work.

She (I am assuming) had me into/close to the backing with several runs. I am fortunate the section I was fishing didn't have much timber or other good hiding places once the protection of the bridge footing was out of reach. Without my net man (thanks bro, you know who you are) I'd have never landed this one. Took me too long and stressed the fish terribly. She swam off but not strongly and I really hope she made it.

That’s a male. That lower jaw tells the tale.

Nice. Did I see you starting a fire on the 17th?

That would have been my net man at the fire pit.

That's a big ol' hook jawed male brownie. Beautiful colors.

Your absence from the immediate area surely increased my odds Richard. I am hoping to get back up to the cabin shortly after Thanksgiving. Hope to see you up the creek.

Not a fan of freshwater, but I've gotta get me some of that! Excellent catch!
