These came from Village Point Lake, near Morgan Elementary School.

NC Wildlife has stocked Village Point Lake and CG Hill early in December to expand Trout fishing opportunities.

This is the second year this has been done.

The Facebook page of NC Wildlife has more information.

I'd like to get a Brown in the stocked ponds, it would be cool to get Rainbow, Brook, and Brown Trout close to home.

I went out to village point on Thursday and caught 10-15 about the same size! Never done much trout fishing but I had a blast. I caught several on a panther martin but that treble hook kept tearing them up so I switched to a similar colored beetle spin and continued to have success. Canít wait to get back out there again!

How crowded does this lake get? I'm working in Clemmons now-a-days and could easily go by this lake after work during the week. Is bank fishing allowed?

Bank fishing is allowed. There is also a pier. Be aware parking space is very limited.

From Google maps, it looks like the only parking is on the side of the road, before the road ends, is that correct? Can you park in the grass/field area just beyond the end of the road?

Yes, parking is along side the road, with the exception of 2 handicapped accessible spots as indicated in the attached image. Recent photo from Google, probably earlier this month.

Like fishscalez said parking is somewhat limited. Iíve been out there on a Thursday and Friday afternoon so far. Thursday before Christmas was significantly less crowded. I was one of maybe 5 people fishing there. However last Friday there were 10-15 people there. With this cold weather I was much more productive the Thursday I went than last Friday. Itís a fun spot to get out too and on a week night evening or late afternoon it might not be too crowded. Wore them out on a beetlespin when I was there.

Do you have to keep the trout you catch? Lake Higgins near Greensboro has a pond stocked with trout but you have to keep what you catch. I'm fine with that but my freezer is full of fish from this year, so it'd be nice to just catch some trout and return them without having to go all the way to the mountains.

Higgins is a "for profit" venture where they are really selling the trout, not the fishing.

The lake in Winston, along with other lakes that the state stocks, are public fishing waters. I release my fish 90% of the time there. It is likely covered with an inch or two of ice right now, but try again next week.
