I may toss mine in the truck bed and fish both the surf and the basin pending conditions.

Zach and I will most likely do a turn and burn. Will probably have yaks and surf gear.

I might need to reserve a couple seats in Donnie’s truck to fish the surf at the fort.

You have two seats reserved.. And for what it's worth, the off road setup of my truck has suspension based on Toyota desert racing, it dampens quite a bit of the ruts on the beach.

    John,

any chance I can borrow that surf setup for the day? If not, I can go buy one, but since I don't go often (1 day a year is about it) I'd prefer to avoid having to.

Please be sure to air down your tires to around 18 psi. Makes a huge difference in floatation on the sand and your transmission will appreciate it. Refill them as soon as possible after coming off.

Not saying you couldn't do it with a 2 wheel drive but Fisher has very soft and rutty sand. I wouldn't advise it.

I have this portable air compressor from my old Jeep days. Perfect for airing up your tires afte a day on the beach. Actually I have another one somewhere probably at my brothers place, this one was a replacement but never got used sold my Jeep after being a jeeper since 1980.

And... that does not mean AWD. Seriously. Please understand that you don't want to use AWD in soft sand.
