    Default Thursday 4/12

We finally had a decent weather report of 2-3' seas so me and usmcbecker headed out of NRI looking for Bonito. We struck out to Christmas Rock since we had lake like conditions. They got the forecast wrong in a good way this time. Look at the waves in the pic, basically flat. We trolled for a good while with no luck. Saw a few small pods of bonito but could never get to em in time to catch any. Had a few frosty beverages and decided to pull the lines in, head further east and search for the bonito. We ended up about 19 miles out only finding a school of blues. Water temps were 55 out of the inlet, 55 divers rock, 57 Christmas rock, and 61 about 19 miles out.

That looks like Topwater Alley, I would have had to sling a red/white Zara Spook out there. If they would hold tight and let me get close enough to sling a fly, that would even be better.

I had a wopper plopper tied on from bass fishing and they didn't hardly give it a second look. May have been because the braid.

East Coast Sports reported today that Bonito were caught at Divers Rock.

Check out their Facebook page. If the waters lay down where it is fishable we will hit it tomorrow thru Thursday.

Not good but not too bad either. I took the same route as last year. Just avoid dead low.
