Hi all. I received notice from Vertical Scope (the current owners of NCangler.com) on Friday that my services as Administrator were being terminated effective immediately. There was no explanation for why this was happening. I replied with a question asking for some explanation, but I have received no response. I assume that my user account will be changed from "Administrator" to "Registered Angler" soon.

Before that happens I just want to say thank you to all the members of the website that have participated over the years since I started the website in January of 2005. I have found some lifelong friends here and I hope you have had that experience as well. I am thinking specifically today of Topsail Angler (Mike), Lefty (Kevin) and Fojoloy (Forrest) who were friends that I met here who have since gone home to be with the Lord. I am also thinking of those members who have volunteered over the years to serve as Moderators to assist me in keeping the website a family-friendly and civil one. Jeffonc, lewisfishing, trigger22 and wademaster, you guys have at times endured a lot and I cannot thank you enough for your service and friendship.

In closing, I am going to step away all together from the website since they have made this decision for me. :) It will give me more time to spend on a couple of other websites I've created and hopefully some time for fishing.

I wish you all well and tight lines!

Blessings
Randy

Randy, thank you for everything that you’ve put into this site to make it what it is today. While it is on a downward slope activity wise lime all forums are, at its peak this was no doubt one of the best forums on the web and that’s thanks to you and your guidelines. I hope we can get together and fish soon.

Thanks, Randy. Can’t stand this, but everything happens for a reason. I know, it’s cliche but you are on to bigger things.

It has been my honor to help you here and I hope that at some point we can meet in the future.

Take care and God bless!

Wes

Randy, this is really sad news that we have lost the person who made this site and kept it family friendly. I have no family to speak of but have met people on here that have become the best family I could ask for. If not for you I would not have this special group of people that I’m proud to call my brothers & sisters.

I sincerely hope you check in once in awhile with a fishing report or just to say hi. You will be missed greatly.

With you having to leave us I hope this does not turn into a Facebook type of atmosphere and ruin what we have now.

Randy....I am VERY sorry to hear that you are leaving NCAngler and as the Founder, Owner, and Administrator, you ran a "smooth ship" and I met many new friends to fish with on my trips to NC over the past years. Sorry that we never met....

I was one of the 3 guys who started "JaxKayakFishing" and I helped grow it and was an Admin there for many years and it was very sad to watch is decline and become stagnant the past 3 years, so I know how you must feel...
I could see see downward slide in here over the past couple of years, along with all the technical issues!!
Good Luck in your future plans and please keep me notified if you start another fishing website!!!
Best Wishes...JohnYaksJax

It's what they do, they've been buying outdoor forums for a few years now. It's funny they own a bunch of gun forums and the Toronto Star which owns Vertical Scope is insanely anti-gun. When they bought up the Carolina Gun forums a couple guys got together and started their own and took away all the membership from the Vertical Scope owned sites. Since there's 8 owners they can't really offer enough money to make them all want to sell out. There is a history of VS giving out email addresses and passwords so be careful folks.

Thanks for all you have done for all of us, Randy! A great community here, really the best online community of which I've ever been a part, and that's a credit to you and all the guys you have mentioned and more. Since I don't live in NC anymore my activity is less and less but I will always remember you and this community fondly.

Thanks again for everything you have done!

Thank You for all youve done! iI know thisnis late but Ive been tied up elsewhere with life and just got back to the water and the site. NCAngler was a home and comfort for my Father Charlie Cobb (ccobb) in his final years and I will never forget that!!
