I was going to try the same thing John, I remember Fish Whisperer mentioning that on a older post about this place.

I decided to take Friday off instead of leaving work at lunch. The oncoming front may have the fish turned on. Be there late morning or by lunch

Unless someone else joins in last minute, Iíll definitely take you up on this offer to be closer to the food.

Being the only shore bound angler and with the park's home page noting the closure of some trails and warning of the surface conditions, I have decided to sit this one out. I have to admit that damp 30s to 50s plays into the decision also. It sucks to worry about arthritis kicking in, but that's reality these days.

Andy - Completely understand I'm debating the issue myself, may fish Friday and see how it goes. Not a fan of wet and cold either and maladies due to the aging process have made their presence felt more than I care to admit.

No.... Don't expect wet. Prediction is 2/100 of an inch of rain. Cold at night is a definite... But if you have a good bag, you sleep in your clothes and a knit cap, you will be fine. Change clothes and socks before going to bed... any water/sweat on your socks will make you cold. You can buy a sleeping bag liner at academy or Walmart for $10 or less to make your bag sleep warmer. And, of course, layers. Sleep on a pad, not a cot... Cots allow cold air below you. It will be beautiful during the day.

I totally understand that the weather will have an effect attending. If someone needs a space Iíll have it. Planning to sleep in the back of my truck as I put the old topper on it. Looking forward to the event and hopefully fish nuggets.

They do burn through a bottle of propane in about 4 hours though.

The cost for each 1 pound bottle cost me 45 cents with the refillable bottles I bought a couple years back. 20 pound propane bottle fills 20 1 pound bottles totally full. Iíve probably all ready recouped the initial cost of the refill kit and bottles.

I will personally give you a pass this time, I am sure the rest of crew will to as long you don't make a habit of it.

I appreciate the pass Bob. I will attempt to not make it a habit, and if it should I would hand over my official Red X certificate to Judge H and become just a lurker on this site.

My capable assistant, Ivana Duyanoww has rolled over to inform me of this post. Your certificate is in fact a lifetime membership.
