It's not a Red X M&G for real until the food discussion starts.

I'm a maybe for Morrow Mountain. Shoulder surgery next Friday; I won't be paddling in mid March but should be out of the sling. Pre-op on Monday; I will ask the doc what he thinks. I may need someone to hold my rod while I reel my fish in.

I will be having hand surgery next Tuesday and fishing the Hot Hole on Saturday. This will make my 3rd year in a row this has happened. Gotta love getting old and falling apart 🤔

There is a decent fishing pier, and a wooden bridge over a backwater... Then if you go up the trail to falls dam, some nice fishing spots along that trail.

It happens to all of us. I am not as strong as my youngest son these days.

Beats the alternative. And we get 5% off at Publix today and Harris Teeter tomorrow...

I will have the immobilizing belt and block on the sling for a couple of weeks. Should only be 4-6 weeks total in sling. It's my left hand and I pretty much exclusively spin fish with an open face. It would probably be best if I am able to beg a ride with someone trolling so I am not casting and retrieving all day, but maybe I will be ready for it. Not being able to paddle actually increases the odds I will make this one.

Moving to the buffet line...I do enjoy a good cup of coffee and savvy early risers know that it's brewing in a classic 1950's vintage coffee pot (made in the USA even) usually around 5:30 or so. I frequently have some fine fresh hog sausage from a local farmer on the jet boil too. Conversations in the great outdoors around a picnic table and a steaming mug before most of the nation is awake is a nice way to start a day with my wonderful Red X buddies.

If the only people posting attending on here I will make the breakfast like I served up at New River. Mountain Man breakfast served up with fresh baked Buttermilk biscuits and grits. I know this will feed up to 8 people.

Mountain Man my way is sautéed onion/sweet peppers,mushrooms/hash browns/ dry rub bacon / 4 blend cheddar cheese /eggs and sausage cooked in Dutch oven. Join donated his fresh sausage that really added a good taste.

I’m happy to help with breakfast anyway I can. I have a 2 burner Stove, coffee pot etc. Also waiting on a friends response of attending. If he doesn’t I’ll have extra space on campsite.

I can go a different route on breakfast and make some egg omelette with biscuits / grits or hash browns. Buttermilk pancakes is also a option. Linda likes a sautéed mushroom omelette.

While we are in the area... Anyone want to go to the "Falls reservoir" of the Yadkin lake on Sunday on our way out? Supposed to be beautiful, underused, and it it has tunnels/caves you can kayak into. It's the next lake up from Lake Tillery, which we will be fishing, and the launch is on the same side of the lake that we will be on.

I ain't never caught no fish in a cave.... be a good story to tell (intentional grammar).
