I wouldn’t mind making a return trip to explore this area. Really not far of a drive for a day trip.

Or maybe an old friend you haven't talked to or fished with in a while...

If I make it (will verify Monday afternoon at pre-op appointment) I will probably be looking for a tiny spot for a single cot tent (about 2' x 6').

Going to need more discussion since I’m the only one talking food. We going to do this the normal way Saturday night is the group meal.

Is there power at campsites? Not as critical as before. I had severe apnea before and would wake the dead without CPAP then feel like crap the next day. After weight loss, it is moderate and I can get by without it for a night or two. I haven't yet, but sleep doc told me it isn't as much of a concern. Still would prefer power if it is available.

Maybe we can just plan on group meal both nights? Something easy on Friday night since we’re just going to be arriving, hamburger/Hot dogs, chips etc.

Sounds good to me. Easy both nights is cool with me since me and a couple others will be just be getting back from a Florida camping trip on the 1st.

I dont ever ever remember us having hamburgers for a group meal before. I have cooked a few for me and a couple people on a Friday night for late arrivals a few times. I like the idea for a group meal, simple and no long cook or prep times.

I quit eating beef and pork a couple of years ago so I will probably bring turkey or chicken sausage, maybe a foil pouch of shrimp; something for a small spot on a grill.

I love that. I have been using chicken andouille, which would probably not be a big hit; I have to admit I have not found one as spicy as I like it. But I am not so picky about my choice that I would refuse to eat it made with regular sausage; I just wouldn't get any when I got a serving.

Thanks Len for letting me know about this little event! Ted, I would be looking at getting a tent site or sharing one, I'll see what's available, I can sleep in the Subaru worst case scenario. Cajun food? Now your talking!
