At my pre-op today, I talked with the doc about mid March. I should be fine for fishing, just no hauling coolers or carrying much in my left hand. So I am more definite about going now. So I will take you up on the offer so I can power my CPAP. I have an actual cot inside my cot tent, so I don't need to find a soft spot, just a 2'x6' area that's reasonably level.

I’m grateful that so many of the RedX crew are ready for another M&G. After the long Winter and the other meets where many of us weren’t able to make it I’m really looking forward to this. Hopefully others will see this and join us.
Surgery pretty much sealed the deal - unless something totally unforeseen comes up, I will be there. He stitched the labrum tear and the rotator cuff can be rehabbed. The MRI on my right shoulder ~3 years ago went the other way - things were worse than expected when he got in there. This time things weren't as bad as indicated. Labrum needed repair and bone spurs needed to be removed, so it wasn't all for nothing, but rehab will be a little quicker and easier. I didn't have to come home with the block and belt behind the sling to immobilize it; just the sling and I can start using the hand pretty freely with the sling on. I could probably fish with an open face reel in a week. Bigger concern with being out and about in rough terrain is instinctive reactions to steady yourself and/or falling on it.

We had fun just getting together at the Lake Norman hothole today. They weren't running water from the steam plant but several small spots were caught. Seeing that conditions were not favorable and considering that we are wise old men we headed to the Boathouse Grill for brunch.

I still have space in trailer for 2, can probably fit a tent or on site also electric available if needed.
I think I will back out on @plowboy0051's offer for tent space and take a trailer spot. Go a little easier on myself...

Samples of fine liquid refreshments will be discreetly dispensed.

You got room for another tent or do I need to book another site? Looks like the closest tent site is 85 at this point.
I've been doing a lot of things lately and not getting on here as much. Just seeing this post and feeling like camping in March, and of course fishing, with a bunch of Red X'ers sounds like fun.

I have to back out, my sons' spring break is the week before so they will be with me and flying out on the 17th so these dates really won't work. Darn!

Red X Angler - When we catch and release we don't want to eat it, we just want to make it late for something.
