    Default They were chewing today.

Hey everyone, I have been in Florida since January. Fishing brackish and freshwater.

Hit up a salt spot today and got on a good trout bite. Took a 5 fish limit home. Regulations here are 5 trout. Must be 15-20 inches and 1 fish can be over 20. The bigger one was almost 21. Gave me a heck of a battle.

Landed 20-25, lost count. About a third were in the slot and the rest were just under.

I have been wintering down here for the past 4 years. The first year I fished freshwater only. 2 years ago I ventured out and tried some brackish water and protected salt water bays. Fishing was good and I found out like this salt thing.

I pulled these fish out of a spot right near our rental that my wife told me to try. First I thought” what does she know.” Ha she was right.

I moved to Youngsville this past June and now I plan on trying to learn some salty spots when I get back home.

I’m in Panama City Beach. It’s not the warmest part of Florida in the winter but most days are nice and very fishable.
Condo rentals are very affordable before spring break.
