Last 2 years I believe everyone except maybe a couple stayed in hotels. I treat myself to a hotel for this meet since I can get straight to fishing and skip setting up camp.

I've got a small aluminum barrel type charcoal grill too. Maybe I'll bring it as well as the jet boil this year.

In other news we all likely have a family hierloom or two that no amount of money could buy. One of mine belonged to my Dad and graced the roof of his home in Duck, NC on the OBX. I just put a new roof on my house and it now grace's mine.

So I am not at all familiar with this area of the state...what hotels/motels are closest to the Red X gathering spot?

I have a Orion Smoker/cooker that we can use on the beach even in very windy conditions. Works on convection with charcoal for heat on the outside of it. I値l bring it so we can cook lunch/dinner. It痴 contained so we池e not building a campfire on the beach.

Kure Beach has quite a few locally owned motels. It's closest. We've also stayed in Southport at the Comfort Suites or Wyndham Wingate. Nice ferry ride to Fort Fisher from there.

We have several meets throughout the year from the mountains to the coast. Come hang out with the Red X boys and it won't be your last. Just a fantastic group. Look forward to seeing you there!
