Looking for input from people experiences with very small outboard motors. I look to use this small engine (4 stroke 2hp to 4hp) on the rear transom fabricated on my Blue Sky Boatworks 360 angler. Yes it is a peddle drive but anything more than moving around a limited given area is difficult. I found MinnKota and its battery to be heavy and does not provide enough range to get around in a quick manner. That's where I am at right now. Battery power motors are very costly and range is in question. Little 2.5 hp engines will seem to provide enough power to get through currents and allow me to travel around to find the active fishing holes. So this is what I am considering:

Yamaha 2.5 HP 4 stroke water cooled

Suzuki 2.5 HP 4 stroke water cooled

Honda 2.3 HP 4 stroke air cooled

Chinese models?

Any input you have on these or others in this class of outboard would be appreciated. Again I need to keep the weight of the motor under 40lbs.
