    Default Oyster point fishing

Planning a camping and fishing trip. Any suggestions for tackle? I prefer shallow water fishing

Tides affect everything at that campground. Are you using a boat, Kayak, or bank fishing?

I can see the cross rock from my back deck and fish the area fairly regularly. Be prepared to fish around the tides, at low tide you wont be able to launch as its a giant mud flat that leads out a good ways. You could always launch in downtown Newport and run down if you have to or run to Beaufort. Not much going on there right now aside from spike trout, but it should hopefully pick up soon.
