    Hopefully the record flooding will clear off by then. Lake Hickory I'd going to be idle speed only for a good while. I don't know where all the full size trees come from!

    Catfish are the only thing that bites real good in muddy water. Use chicken livers.

    I used to catch a lot of bass up in the river in Lake Hickory after the rain when the water got good and muddy, back when there was grass in the edges of the water. I only fished a chartruse spinner with hammered copper willow leaf blades, and I could catch fish when no one else could. Dad taught me that one.

    I am hoping the water level,is up at a lake I fish since seems like when water is up covering the rocks the topwater actionmismhot. Last week before the rain not a single topwater hit and first skunk at that lake this year

    Topwater has been terrible on Hickory all year. Beds were flooded during the spawn.
