Default Looking for kid friendly fishing spot

On vacation in Cornelius. Looking for a shore/pier area that is kid friendly for fishing. Kids are from 4-12 and there are eight of them here with us. Looking for an area where we can all fish together. Would like to stay within Lake norman or the NC waters of lake wylie -- and websites arent helping to choose the right location for a group this size. Any suggestions?

Lake Norman State Park - The pier will support that many, if there aren't many using it already. Fish under the pier with minnows for crappie and spotted bass, or throw way out from the end with garlic flavored chicken breast for catfish.

Also in the park - The park lake dam will support that size. And fishing with worms in the outflow of the dam usually gives plenty of small sunfish. Park near the visitor center, and walk the Alder trail, sticking to the right.

Also in the park - The bridge over Hicks creek is sometimes productive. Separated from the road by concrete low barriers. Park at visitor center, and walk 1/4 mile down to bridge.

Try Washington Park in Davidson... It's a manicured pond looking area that is connected to Davidson Lake/Lake Norman. Catfish, bream, bass are there.

Those would be my choices for a big number of small children. Good luck.
After all is said and done.... A heck of a lot more will be said than done
