    Default Stick Baits Inshore

Anyone use the smaller ones inside? I was just gifted some 4" Strategic Angler Bullits. I think these are supposed to sink.

Never heard of that lure... however I have used baits that size and the trout and reds do not mind eating them.

Rapala X-raps are a must have for Trout in the fall.

They are extremely effective, especially in some current and if they suspend. In the surf too. I'll second ICM's vote for the X-Rap, but there are many more that will do the trick including the venerable old Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue.

Major difference is floating & sinking versus suspending which the Rapala X-raps are.
Could affect your Trout catch ratio.
Nice gift. Worth trolling for ocean species.......ICM

There are videos showing these sticks used in the ocean, casting for tuna and other stuff. I asked here about inshore because am too old to put my 18' skiff out in the big, bad ocean myself. Was thinking about ripping one of these across shallow flat, or slow zigzag around pilings ......so far just thinking. But I have to honestly try one at some point.
