    Default Pamlico/Chocowinity Bay rookies

Wife and I are taking camper, boat and kids to Twin Lakes RV resort for the 4th. Looking for any advice for fishing Pamlico and Chocowinity bay. Would really like to catch some flounder. Freshwater anglers looking for saltwater help

Think you will need to head east from there to find the fish your looking for. I am sure others will chime in, but I would guess you would need to go at least as far as the Bath and Durham creek areas.

Bath or Belhaven would be a good bet...Quarter Deck Marina in Bath, and the Wildlife Ramp in Belhaven to launch. 1/8 to 1/4 jigheads with Gulp or Z-Man shrimp. Trout will take on popping corks, flounder creeping the jig along the bottom. Try beating the banks...if that does not work move out to water 4-5 feet deep. This will be an early bite so you need to be up before the chickens. There will be a lot of boat and jet ski activity by mid-day. Happy Fourth!!!
