Default Headed to Old Fort for a week

Going on vacation from Aug 3-8 to Old Fort, NC. I've never trout fished before but have always wanted to give it a go and maybe get my daughters a fish or two. Can anyone recommend some creeks or access points near by where I may have some success? Any other tips are greatly appreciated. I will be using ultra light spinning tackle, nonodea hownto use badly rod.

Curtis Creek has a section that is wild trout with some wild rainbow trout on the Pisgah National Forest up behind Old Fort.

Take some single hook spinners and spin flies to be legal.

Mill Creek through town gets stocked with trout in the fall and spring. Might still be a trout or two left.

Thank you for the replys, that gives me what I should need to get started. I'm not scared to get skunked either, I can have just as much fun wading and fishing as datching!
