    Default Lake Waccamaw/ Waccammaw River

I'm thinking about a trip, next spring to the Lake Waccamaw/Waccamaw river area. I'm primarily looking for large Bream, mostly flyrodding.
I'm not looking for anyones hot spot, just some general information about times, moon phase, launch areas and popular local flies.
Normally I fish the Blackwater Creeks in NE NC and would expect there are a lot of similarities. Typically, the week after the full moon in May if the best time in the NE is the best for the larger Bream. Is this the same?
    Any info would be appreciated.

Lake Waccamaw is a tough nut to crack.Thee's some monster shellcrackers in there, but finding them is a challenge. Those locals fish the grass beds and do pretty well.

The river itself, I've only fished down around Pireway. It'll be more conducive to fish like the rivers you're familiar with. There's a lot of Cyprees trees in the river, and naturally plenty of snakes and gators.
