Going slow with the trolling motor is a good move. Half the time I'll be on the lowest setting and then turn it off as the momentum carries me. Once I stop I'll do it again. I only ever go fast enough to keep forward momentum. Also try throwing a shallow diver/rising lure out the back. I do this with a shadow rap sometimes and it usually produces as I'm trolling along. When you stop it just floats to the top, pretty much snaggless this way.

Yea I did a suspending jerk bait out he back this weekend. Had it just a yards behind the boat. Great way to increase the odds.

I keep mine at least 15 yards back. Further away from the boat the better imo.

I will try back farther next time. Usually I am working my way around bends and people in the creeks.

    Thanks for the advise.

Anyways, if that was you on that boat Heel, thanks again.
Jmatt, not me, but the MR17 is my go-to trout bait. Hope to go out tomorrow.

Yep, certain situations dont allow it to be further back.
