Love Oct fishing
On tillery last night. Only got two flats in the boat but they were pretty nice. The first was at 52lbs. About 20 min later another giant hit. This one at 48-50 lbs. What a night. Both fish put great fights.

Looks amazing, I’m still trying to get past the 20lb mark I couldn’t imagine a fifty

When I lived in Texas, commercial fishing for giant cats was (and is) the routine using floats and drop lines. Many reached over 40 lbs with some near 80 lbs. My largest cat in the last few year was an 7.5 lb channel cat taken on light tackle and I can easily imagine the fight of a +48 lb cat. Good catch !

I agree, the falling water temps are getting the fish fired up. Was on Lake James yesterday and it was hard to not catch a catfish. Had several hit my walleye bottom bouncers, using nightcrawlers also had them hit trolled shiners. My fishing bud, was having same results sitting on top of bait schools. I ended up breaking off 2, that I am sure were big cats ! One about spooled a reel rigged with 18lb line. I could not stop it. Was fun regardless, would like to seen just how big those 2 were.
