I don't believe it is legal to sell them for bait... You have to catch your own. If I recall correctly, this is because people using bait introduced non-native crayfish to nc, and threw off some ecosystems
You can buy wire crawfish traps from most fishing equipment stores or websites. Toss in some chicken scraps or open a can of cat/dog food, lay the trap in the lake preferably near some rock ballast, and go home. Come back tomorrow and you won't need to buy craws. If the fish aren't biting, you can always eat the craws....win, win....
