I remember him from the 80’s and 90’s, and used to watch his show regularly. Never met him, but I can still hear his voice as he talked about tips and techniques, especially for panfish and crappie.
Me too !!!
A great TV fishing personality and so very helpful unlike so many others that came after him. Sad we couldn't have seen more of him on TV. Seems he always did it for the love of fishing and not the love of money.
He kept things simple compared to modern fishing shows on networks.
I think his show was on for 40+ years.
His show caused me to have an interest in fishing for Smallmouth Bass.
His show wasnt one of my favorites but do remember it from the Saturday morning lineup on ESPN in the early 90s. No doubt he left a mark on the fishing world though.
He was my dad's favorite. Love the tag at the end of his show " dedicated to dad who always had time to take me fishing"
