    It will cast significantly better. It has a smaller diameter and is softer. Remember to use a good quality leader from the braid to the bait.

    Thanks for all the inputs guys. Great discussion ! Glad I work part time in a Fishing/Hunting store. The employee discount is going to help me out some on the purchases of several brands of braid to try.

    I still switch back and forth between braid and mono. 8lb for both. 8lb braid casts a mile, 8lb mono's stretch will keep a big head shaker trout buttoned to a mirrodine. Dang if ya do, dang if ya don't ha

    Also when you spool up your new braid don't fill it up to the edge. Leave a 1/16" or so underfilled or you will get bad wind knots

    I've used Sufix 832 and Spiderwire stealth braid with good success.
