    Default New Personal Best

Fished the North Creek area late morning/all afternoon. Water temps 46.3 to 50.5 as the day wore on. Caught my personal best speckled trout on a 1/8 oz jig with a Gulp 3 inch chartreuse swimming mullet. Very slow hopping retrieve, every 5-6 seconds so slooowww.

Good strike and then dead weight, after a few seconds felt some head shakes and then came to the surface where I could see it. Knew it was a good fish——took my time, but then it woke up right at the boat. Took me 4 tries with the net. 23 1/4 inch. Made my day. Also caught 2 16 inchers and a small drum. Worked hard for my trout limit but just could not connect on #4.

That 4th one is the toughest one but some nice fish. Good work.

Nice job. Congrats. Slow down even more with the retrieve as winter sets in. You’ll be wearing them out in no time.
