    Default High Rock 4-2 and Thom-a-lex 4-3

After a brief cold snap its starting to warm back up. High Rock is new to me and I have limited range on the kayak, so I focused on the back of Abbots Creek. Water was 59 degrees, 2 ft visibility. Caught four in the 1-2 lb range, all on a lipless crankbait. Paddled back down to the lake proper below NC-47, and had to cross a massive flat where max depth is maybe 2ft. Made it down to some deeper water and caught a 3 lber near the transition.

Today I went to Thom-a-lex, water temp 62, visibility 1-2 ft. No hope of seeing any beds, and I struck out in the first few coves. Really had to slow down my retrieve and eventually got bites on a Texas rigged brush hog and a senko. Last fish weighed in right at 7 lb.

I had no idea Abbotts had all those cypress. Catching anything at Thom-A-Lex is a good day in my opinion. Nice fish! Thanks for the report!
